Hi! I’m Stephanie. I’m a displaced southerner living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’ve spent my entire life astride one horse or another, from a naughty Shetland pony to an uncoordinated Oldenburg. I joined Pony Club at age 11 and never looked back; I was hooked on three-day eventing from the minute I saw a horse thunder down a bank at the club’s horse trials.
In college, I rode NCEA hunt seat for the UT Martin Skyhawks, which was an educational experience; I knew the hunter ring was not for me! After obtaining a degree in natural resources management, I moved to Wichita, Kansas for a terrible job. I took polo lessons to fill my spare time- it was the most fun I’ve ever had on a horse.
I moved to Oklahoma in 2010 and worked as a therapeutic riding instructor for three years before landing my current job as the website and marketing manager for a local tack shop, The Horse of Course. I married my longtime boyfriend Johnny in 2015 at a Kentucky Derby-themed affair, complete with rose-draped Thoroughbred attendees. We bought a small farm in 2016 where we live with three horses, five cats, and two dogs.
When I’m not riding, I’m practicing yoga, cooking, or reading.
