Birthday giveaway!

Today is my birthday! I am 29 years old. I plan to celebrate in my usual fashion: by eating binge eating chips and salsa, enjoying chile verde, and drinking a margarita the size of my head at one of my favorite Mexican places in downtown Tulsa.

I like to share my birthday joy with others; for example, I baked everyone at work a small loaf of banana bread. I don’t think banana bread would ship that well, so to share the birthday vibes with all of you, I thought I’d have a little giveaway!

You’ll receive a whole package of items, but much like a birthday present, they’re a surprise! (I promise they won’t be terrible.)

If you’d like to win, just comment below and tell me how you like to celebrate your birthday- you have until Monday, November 2 to do so. A winner will be drawn randomly on Tuesday, November 3. Good luck!

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love birthdays but I hate being the center of attention. A quiet dinner out with John is what I like best. Eating delicious food and cake = a really good birthday.

  2. Happy birthday! I’m with Erin – I loathe being the center of attention so a nice dinner and a bottle of wine at home with husband and maybe a few friends is my fave!

  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Hope you have fun, Mexican food is my favorite. I use to like to go to the beach every year on my birthday, the last few years we have been doing small trips to celebrate. This year we went up to Northern MI which was amazing and so pretty. Next year I would like to go to the Wisconsin Dells and check out the big waterpark there.

  4. Happy birthday! Hope you have a great alcohol and pony filled day! I had Mexican on my birthday, too! 🙂 Favorite thing to do: take of work. Seriously. And then do EVERYTHING!

My favorite way to celebrate my birthday would be spending time with Roger, then heading to one of my favorite restaurants to eat yummy food and drink ALL the wine. Or margaritas. Or both.

Who knows, it’s YOUR BIRTHDAY!! Have a great day!

  6. Happy Birthday!!!!! 29 was a great year for me, so hopefully it will treat you just as kindly 🙂 My favorite way to celebrate my birthday was when I was a kid we’d all have a christmas themed sleepover. When we woke up, it was Christmas eve and the start of lots of fun stuff!

  7. Happy Birthday!
I like to celebrate with my favorite meal: pork chops and apple sauce! And usually wine. And my free starbucks in the morning!

  8. HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS! Your birthday plans sound delicious, and may sway my upcoming plans to include similarly delicious food…

I celebrated my last birthday by jumping my “baby” horse 3′ for the first time, and she rocked it! There were also Bailey’s Irish Cream cupcakes and pasta, because carbs and sugar are delicious.

  9. Happiest of birthdays to you!
I always go out to the barn for a ride on my birthday. And then I usually find birthday margaritas and queso. Nothing too exciting, but it’s always a good day nonetheless.

  10. Just started reading your blog and I love it. You have great information! My ideal B-day involves a trail ride by the river followed by Indian food and a good beer. Then taking my dogs for a walk.

  11. Happy birthday! My favorite birthday treat is designer cupcakes from the expensive place I refuse to pay for the rest of the time.

    1. Oooh, I know what you mean! My birthday cake usually comes from one of the fancy bakeries in town. I figure I never go there otherwise, so I might as splurge for my birthday!

  12. Happiest Birthday!!! That sounds like a pretty amazing celebration.

My favourite way to celebrate is to turn my birthday into a WHOLE WEEK! I usually have a party, make lots of food, do breakfast in bed at least one of those days, and the last two years: RIDE MY PONY.

I hope Mo and Gina get some celebratory cake/donuts!

  13. Happy happy birthday! Like others I really don’t like being the center of attention. I normally spend a lot of time with the pony and enjoy delicious dinner with family and close friends. All depends on the year. If I can I make it to Cali and my mom and I get to celebrate together (her bday is 4 days after mine). Treat yo self 😉

  14. Oh, I am totally that person who doesn’t really celebrate. Growing up we got to choose what we wanted for dinner. Sometimes if he’s on point my husband takes me out to dinner or makes dinner for me. Other than that…I mostly don’t treat it any differently. I am lame.

    1. That’s how Johnny is. I’m certain that if a) his birthday wasn’t on the 4th of July and b) he didn’t love cake so much, that he wouldn’t even remember when it is!

  15. happpppy birthday!!! 29 is a good year, i think 🙂 my birthday is coming up soon too so i’ve been thinking of how to celebrate or what to do that is reasonable for my currently gimpy self haha…. kinda thinking about asking/begging/selling my soul for a golf cart lol

  16. Happy belated birthday! Your birthday plans sounded awesome! I usually go for a ride and bring a six pack of Guinness for the horses to enjoy with their dinner that evening 🙂

  17. Happy birthday!!! I like for other people/organizations to have an event and I just go with friends and family 😉 example- 2 different times in my life the hunt ball has been on my birthday, 18 and 29th bday) and I just went to those and had a great time!!! Oh and the oscars are sometimes on my birthday so I enjoy staying home and watching that for my birthday 🙂

  18. Happy (belated) Birthday!!! Hope you had a fab day!
I love birthdays! Most of my birthdays growing up were spent at horse shows, but now that I’m old, I try to eat all the things for my birthday. I like your mexican food and margarita plan!

  19. Happy belated birthday! Hope it was a good one! I just had to say again how amazing your birthday prize pack last year was!! Still using the halter, lead rope, water bottle, rider’s rasp….pretty much everything that wasn’t edible! Best giveaway ever!

  20. I’m with you on Mexican food! And ice cream! All the foods! I must have cheese too though. 😉 One of my favorite birthdays was in 2011 when my mom bought us tickets to a luncheon with Jane Seymour of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, one of my favorite shows growing up. 😉

  21. Happy belated birthday!!! I like to celebrate my birthday one of two ways. Excessive margarita drinking (followed by laying on a beach/by a pool if possible) OR having someone throw hibachi shrimp at myself and my family! So basically good food and booze and I’m set. Also, I get control over the remote, and my husband must watch whatever movie I choose. Past titles have included Disney classics and the Pirates of Penzance.

Last year I spent my birthday riding my horse. It was perfect. It’s been so long since I’ve had a party though, I might want to do one next year!

  23. Happy Birthday! (first time commenter here!)

I like to spend my birthday sleeping in, then an afternoon ride & Mexican for dinner!:)

  24. Happy belated bday! Since my birthday is the day after Christmas I usually like to celebrate by riding my horse and being a couch potato with wine and chocolate!
