Happy birthday, Candy!

Today is Candy’s tenth birthday!

Bred by John Perdue, Vintage Candy is by the multiple graded stakes winner Formal Dinner and out of the unraced mare Mishapangua (Zafarrancho x Bleach). She retired from racing after 34 starts with a 3-5-5 record and $42,177 in earnings. Candy produced two colts before entering training for a career as a sport horse.

I acquired Candy in 2016. Since then, she’s been to dressage shows, foxhunts, and many trail rides. She’s a weird and very occasionally wonderful horse; I think I’m glad she’s in my life (even if she drives me insane sometimes).
